Tim comes to Herbie’s On The Park with more than 16 years of culinary experience. A native to Michigan, Tim was inspired at an early age by his parents, who owned and operated a restaurant where Tim learned to cook under his mother’s guidance. Tim began his culinary career in Petoskey, Michigan. He graduated from Grand Rapids Community College, then moved on to attend the Culinary Institute of America Greystone in St. Helena, California. He also earned a bachelor’s degree in marketing from Michigan State University. Upon graduating, Tim traveled to Spain, where he focused on authentic Spanish dishes and other traditional specialties.

After moving to the Twin Cities in 2000, Tim put his culinary skills to work at Aquavit and St. Paul Hotel before becoming the executive chef at Basil’s Restaurant and the Marquette Hotel in downtown Minneapolis. Tim was also the executive chef of the Lifework’s Restaurant Group at 3M and led their health and wellness program. Tim’s passion for connecting others through food shines through in the upscale Americana fare guests will experience at Herbie’s. Tim and his wife Julie live in St. Paul with their three children and one massive home garden.
